Numerical Computation of 3D Temperature Field in an Automobile Claw-Pole Generator

摘要
In this paper, three dimensional temperature field in an entire automobile claw-pole generator is studied. Based on computational fluid dynamics (CFD) principles of limited volume, the mathematical model equations including the three-dimensional turbulence flows and heat transfer describing the entire generator heat and rotor high-speed rotation are solved. The finite element method is used and the entire generator model is meshed using bend surface tetrahedral grid. Finally, the simulated results of the three-dimensional temperature distribution in the generator are presented at rated load. The paper is helpful to guide the automotive generator design.
