摘要
Theatre and (Im)Migration, edited by Yana Meerzon, is a collected volume that investigates ongoing projects of Canadian multicultural ideology and Canadian theatre nationalisms from the perspective of (im)migrant artists and companies. This review outlines the contributions in this book as they situate Canadian theatre within ongoing legacies of settler colonialism, examine (im)migrant theatre in relation to community and nation formation, closely read (im)migrant theatre and performance works, explore applied and practice-based methodologies, discuss the rehearsal and development practices of (im)migrant theatre artists and companies, and investigate performances from within neo-liberal experience economies. The volume operates as a "shimmering map" (Meerzon 5) that reflects the routes and roots of (im)migrant theatre in the country that we now call Canada.
