摘要
Formal mathematical modelling techniques are given to capture the dynamics of minimum and maximum output signals in switching DC-DC converters. It is shown that the ripple can have dominant effect on the output when there is a load short or when parasitic effects are dominant. It is suggested that, at times, controlling the averaged output of a converter can be ineffective because peak output values sometimes significantly deviate from the averaged output. This paper attempts to quantify this deviation by using both small signal transfer functions and nonlinear (often steady state) models.
