New analysis tool helps clinicians interpret patient response

Still in its preliminary phases, the TPIRS has shown future applications in the field of research and teaching psychoanalytically orientated psychotherapy. TFP is a perfect psychotherapy model for use with these types of instruments because of the clarity and systematic description of the techniques used and different phases of treatment. Knowing precisely what and how interventions should be applied allows for the prediction and recognition of specific patient responses that, in turn, will aid development of improved therapeutic treatments. The examples illustrated in this article are just a few of the preliminary results extracted from the development of the TPIRS that illustrated the broad possibilities of such a tool.
