Plasmon enhanced magneto-optic behaviour in the linear and non-linear optical fields

摘要
Kerr magneto-optic (MO) effects observed in both the linear and second harmonic reflected fields are compared to specular and non-specular magnetic surfaces. In the case of the non-specular surface, resonant coupling of the incident field to the electron plasma excites surface plasmons and the resulting intensification of the local field is observed to enhance the MO effects.
