摘要
Cutting forces and cutting tool temperature after machining processes on titanium alloys is of great interest to industry in controlling tool life and surface integrity of the manufactured critical structural components. Nowadays, finite element method (FEM) for machining processes is constantly attracting researchers and scientists to continuously understand the chip formation mechanisms, heat generation, tool-chip friction, cutting forces and quality of the machined surfaces. The current research is an attempt to model machining performance of newly developed titanium alloy Ti54M using FEM. Cutting and feed forces and cutting tool temperature predicted by numerical simulations are compared with experimental results.
