Critical values in the morphology transition of a liquid bridge

摘要
The morphology transition of a liquid bridge under lateral acceleration is studied through numerical simulations by obtaining stable equilibrium shapes using the pressure balance method. We find that the morphological change of the liquid bridge shows a type of liquid-vapor phase transition when the ratio of the bridge length to diameter is small and the volume is relatively large. We obtain the values of the position of the center of mass, the volume of the liquid bridge, and the lateral acceleration at the critical point.
