Design of Reconfigurable Planar Yagi-Uda Antenna for Dual Frequency Wireless Communication

摘要
Modern day communication systems require accommodation of multiple wireless standards on the same device. In this work a reconfigurable Yagi antenna capable of switching between two distinct frequencies is presented. The frequencies are chosen as 3.5 GHz and 5.8 GHz for future 5G and ISM band communications respectively. Analysis of the modified Yagi antenna is performed using CST microwave studio simulator. The designed antenna is observed to be yielding adequate bandwidths in both the bands along with an end-fire type radiation pattern necessary for terrestrial communication.
