摘要
With introduction of structured education and training of patients with diabetes a liberalization of the diabetic diet was possible. Unnecessary restrictions and recommendations like the prohibition of saccharose in the nutrition of diabetic patients are illustrated. Proved knowledge in the field of diabetic diet is shown by the means of official education programmes. The two main therapy programmes type-2-diabetes without insulin therapy and type-2-diabetes with insulin therapy are token into consideration. A new structured patient education programme for flexible therapy with regular insulin before the main meals is presented. The goal of the therapy is a HbAlc or or below 7% in younger patients (with a relevant risk to develop late complications). The goal in elderly patients is freedom of symptoms of hyperglycemia that means a HbAlc below 9%.
