Multiple endobronchial metastasis from gastric signet ring cell cancer

We describe the case of a 76-year-old male with endobronchial metastasis from gastric cancer. Respiratory symptoms began 12 months after distal gastretomy on the diagnosis of gastric signet ring cell cancer. Bronchoscopy showed multiple endobronchial polypoid tumors in the right lower lobe bronchus and the left B-6. Two months later, he died of pneumonia and autopsy revealed mutiple endobronchial tumors, which showed the same histological features as his gastric cancer and were considered to be metastasis from gastric cancer. Gastric cancer has rarely been reported to cause airway metastasis.
