摘要
In this paper we critically review the relationship between security and biometrics. We support the hypothesis that the incorporation of automated fingerprint recognition systems (AFIS technologies) it constitutes a turning point, a qualitative change in the deployment of control logics. We describe these new logics of biometric control from a review of frontiers controls, to rethink the relationship between security and biometrics at present. We seek to problematize the production of large biometric databases for the general population, based on the study of the creation of SIBIOS, the federal biometric identification system for security, of the Argentine Republic. In these pages we try to answer these questions: What is SIBIOS and how does it work? How is the incorporation of technologies for the bioidentification of people institutionally and politically justified?
