摘要
The paper reviews the developments in standard structural design of beam-column buildings concerning the integration of FEA and Structural Design. The traditional design methodology follows the simple sequence of global modelling, finite element analysis, cross-section design, member design and joint design. The direct interpretation of the design code specifications may lead to a `hand' procedure being an obstacle developing advanced CAD application - phase of member design includes a break point: the global elastic analysis does not provide direct and exact information about member restraints required for the design interaction equations. The paper proves that the traditional methods based on isolation of the members can be avoided: the procedure can be divided into two phases: (i) in the first phase the 3D global elastic analysis, (ii) in the second phase the cross-section design can be carried out. The proposed formula turns into a complex automatic computer procedure that keeps the basic philosophy of design and safety of the Structural Eurocodes.
