Virasoro-type extensions for the Higman-Thompson and Neretin groups

We introduce Virasoro-type extensions for the Neretin spheromorphism groups N-p (for each integer p greater than or equal to 2), the combinatorial or p-adic (when p is prime) analogues of the diffeomorphism group of the circle. The proof of their non-triviality is based on the computation of the Schur multiplier H-2 (V-p, Z) of the Higman-Thompson groups V-p, which are countable subgroups of N-p.
