Parameter estimation of a PEM fuel cell

All mathematical models contain parameters that must be determined so that the model can represent the behavior of the system accurately. In this work, the parameter estimation problem is cast in a nonlinear programming framework with SQP as the solution technique to solve the resulting constrained optimization problem. The approach is demonstrated on a proton-exchange-membrane fuel cell in two instances, when state variable information is available and in the more realistic case when only input-output data are measured.
