Multi-user detection for mutually orthogonal sequences with space-time coding

摘要
In this work, we exploit the properties of mutually orthogonal (MO) complementary sets and Space-Time (ST) codes for multi-user communications with spatial diversity. ST codes enable the uncoupling of the data channels from the transmitter to the receiver. The properties of the MO sequences are used to distinguish between the desired user and the interferers. As a result we achieve a high order of diversity in flat Rayleigh fading channels and the ability to cancel multi-user interference (MUI). When the interferers' received power approaches the received power of the desired user, some performance loss is seen. This degradation resembles the near-far effect with some direct sequence code division multiple access (DS-CDMA) receivers.
