Green foam ceramic was prepared by fly ash and waste glass as the main raw material. Effects of firing temperature and holding time on the apparent porosity, bulk density and bending strength of foam ceramic were studied by foaming process and selecting silicon carbide foaming agent into the base material. The results show that when the composition is as follows: 40 wt% flyash, 42 wt % waste glass and 18 wt% albite with addition of 0.5wt% SiC as foaming agent, bulk density, apparent porosity and bending strength of the as-prepared foam ceramic with the uniform porous size of 1.5 mm are 0.39 g/cm(3) 18.6 % and 4.60 MPa, respectively at 1130 degrees C for 15 min. The result provides a new way to use waste with high added value.
