Generation of a microwave beam with both orbital and spin angular momenta using a transparent metasurface

摘要
In this paper, transparent metasurfaces generating microwave beams with both orbital angular momentum (OAM) and spin angular momentum (SAM) are proposed. A multilayered metasurface unit cell was designed for simultaneously manipulating the transmission phase and polarization state of a linearly polarized incident wave around 4.6GHz. Using such unit cell design, the proposed metasurfaces can introduce additional SAM and OAM to the transmitted wave by linear-to-circular polarization conversion and vortex transmission phase distributions. The simulation and measurement results are in good agreement with each other and demonstrate the generation of microwave beams with both OAM and SAM.
