摘要
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in December, 2008, released the 'CDC Childhood Injury Report: Patterns of Unintentional Injuries among 0-19 year olds in the United States, 2000-2006'. The CDC childhood injury report provided significant information to work of practitioners, policy-makers, elected officials, and researchers to understand the problems and take the necessary steps to reduce the childhood injuries. The CDC report provided an overview of patterns of childhood unintentional injuries in the US related to drowning, falls, fires or burns, transportation, poisoning, suffocation, injuries like overexertion, and being struck by or against an object. The CDC also launched the 'Protect the Ones You Love' initiative and developed resources to help parents to keep their children injury-free including fact sheets, podcasts, media, and event planning guides.
