Effect of B, Zr, Ce and Nb addition on structure and mechanical properties of high carbon Fe-10.5 wt% Al alloy

摘要
A small amount of zirconium and cerium addition to high carbon Fe-10.5 wt% Al alloy resulted in a significant improvement in tensile ductivity probably due to the grain refinement during solidification by the formation of high melting zirconium and cerium rich precipitates. Whereas addition of niobium resulted in improvement of strength.
