Best practices in partnerships between universities and business environment - case study of technical university of IASI (CETEX)

Romanian universities and enterprises face significant new trends in the global environment that affects not only the shape and mode of operation but also their purpose. The paper presents some examples of best practice of the "Ghe. Asachi" Technical University partnerships with Romanian business environment This research is based on information obtained from observations, interviews, reference literature historical data and data from several research projects. As knowledge has increasingly become the core competitive advantage in the global economy, we can say that university-enterprises partnerships are valuable for both partners in helping to facilitate long term relationships, knowing the real needs of labor market, facilitating research, ensuring the successful acquiring and up-dating of technical and managerial skills and know-how, and fill in gaps in execution to help build trust and get the linkage off the ground. That is way we believe that in the next period, companies (especially medium and large enterprises) must play an increasingly important role in academic, especially in engineering and vice-versa in order to find viable solutions for this two different entities adaptation to Knowledge Society and European Union structures.
