摘要
Moment tensor analysis of acoustic emission provides information oil cracking mechanisms of solids under loading. According to the SiGMA (simplified Green's functions for moment tensor analysis) procedure, the crack orientation and crack types can be determined. According to the theory of linear elastic fracture mechanics (LEFM), the direction of crack propagation under mixed mode fracture can be determined as the direction of the maximum tangential stress and the crack extension is governed by the critical stress intensity factor. The direction of crack orientation determined from the eigenvectors of the moment tensor is applied to the maximum tangential stress criterion to estimate the normalized stress intensity factors.
