Empirical relation between surface tension and density for some pure liquid metals

摘要
A new investigation is conducted on the experimental values of surface tension and density for some common pure liquid metals. Using the most recent and accredited data a new relation is found between these values for Au, Cu, Sn, Al, Pb, In, Bi, Ni, Co, Fe, Ba, Na, Nd, Ga, and Sb. The proportion constant has then been calculated giving an accuracy R-2 equal to about 0.98. The equation proposed finds agreement with other theoretical models present in literature; it can be used by engineers in many industrial fields to predict the variables but also to simulate macroscopic processes involving liquid metals.
