A triple-band polygonal slot antenna for WiMAX applications

A printed polygonal slot antenna, fed by a 50 0 microstrip-line and with two narrow strips for three-band operation, is proposed and experimentally studied. The polygonal slot antenna was found to be broadband (1.85 to 5.83 GHz.). When two narrow strips were inserted into the polygonal slot antenna, two bands were rejected. By properly choosing the length and location of the two narrow strips, a triple-band antenna can be achieved. The good impedance matching, good radiation patterns and antenna gain of the proposed antenna are investigated in this article. The design of the proposed antenna is suitable for WiMAX applications.
