With the development of social economy and cultural globalization, the survival, protection and development of intangible cultural heritage in our country are facing unprecedented challenges. Sports, as an important part of intangible cultural heritage, are also facing the severe situation, especially the protection and development of it. At present, in the rescue and protection of sports cultural resources in Henan province, we mainly use the method of "recording-sorting-archiving". But this method makes our national cultural heritage into a "static" item and doesn't reflect the value of cultural heritage. What's more, the heritage was not well developed and used. To protect the sports resources better, we cannot always just stay on the level of protection and collection but make it alive. The best way to protect it is to show its characteristic of "living culture". We should implement the development protection scientifically and rationally and adhere to the market-oriented, diversified and multiform development, so that we can make it play the potential connotation and the value of realistic culture.
