The influence of the angle of convex corner on the corner effect of detonation waves

In this paper, the detonation wave passing around 60 degrees, 90 degrees and 120 degrees convex corner in cast TNT was studied by means of the high-speed photographic techniques. The result indicated that the corner-turning distance and the area of the dead region changed with the angle of the convex corner. The corner-turning distance decreased with the increase in the angle of the convex corner. There was no clear weak detonation region for the case of 60 degrees convex corner, but the dead (undetonated) region appeared for the case of 120 degrees convex corner.
