摘要
The introduction of high-performance steel for bridge applications has raised several issues with regard to bridge design. The design issues which must be addressed relate to limitations inherent to the LRFD Specifications for steels with yield strengths in excess of 345 MPa (50 ksi), and for all steel bridges. AASHTO is considering revisions to the LRFD Specifications allowing HPS485W flexural resistance to be as great as M-p. The fatigue design provisions and the live-load deflection criteria will also be examined for possible revision. The proposed and future possible revisions are discussed herein.
