LaFeO3 powders with an orthorhombic structure were prepared by a stearic acid combustion method, and its electrochemical properties were investigated as the negative electrode of Ni/MH batteries. The results show that the LaFeO3 has a reversible charge-discharge capacity, and its discharge capacity rises with the test temperature increasing and decreases with increasing discharge current density. At 298, 3 13, 333 and 353 K, after 20 cycles, XRD data show that the LaFeO3 remains a perovskite-type structure and the discharge capacity keeps about 49, 110, 3 10 and 490 mAh.g(-1) respectively, indicating a good cycling stability. Exchange current density and ion diffusion coefficient rose as the temperature increased, in line with the changes of the discharge capacity of LaFeO3,
