摘要
One of the important conditions of how an engineering academic institution can reach its goals is dependent on how the human resources are managed. This task needs leadership behaviours or abilities for the leader in the organisation. Because the leadership ideology of a leader decides how this person performs, it is very important to discuss this source. This paper researched the Chinese classics to find the philosophy of leadership, and identify some rules of leadership behaviour that can be used in the management of engineering academic institutions. Under the influence of traditional values from Chinese culture, Chinese people do have their unique cognition about leadership. Moreover, leadership styles also reflect some characteristics of Chinese culture, including the leader role as a monarch, leader role as a family, and leader role as a mentor. The leadership framework has three frame orientations: law, affection, and rational. These three frame orientations correspond to the above three leader roles respectively. This paper discusses the Chinese Leadership ideology to apply in the National Chunghwa University of Education, Taiwan. The aim is to increase the leadership effectiveness of the leader in the academic technology institution.
