Humanistic interpretation (basic methodology in social sciences)

The author discusses humanistic interpretation as one of the basic methodologies in social sciences. This interpretation is one form of scientific explanation and understanding of human action. It is based on the nomological, idealized assumption of rationality of the agent and on the reconstruction of practical reasoning. The method of humanistic interpretation confronts critically the pre-conceptual understanding, which is based on a pure projection of the self in the deliberation and action of the agent.
