摘要
By adding site diversity techniques to space diversity systems, the BER (Bit Error Rate) floor at cell edges in cellular system, which mainly depends on the effect of time delay spread, can be significantly improved. Site diversity technique can reduce the cost of installing a system by expanding the distance between CSs (Cell Stations) without increasing the transmission power. This paper presents improvement of BER with site diversity in the presence of Rayleigh fading, log-normal shadowing, path loss, and time delay spread. Time delay spread, which varies with distance, is treated as noise.
