摘要
Occupational injuries area significant threat to the safety of personnel working at the petroleum installations on the Norwegian Continental Shelf. However, occupational injuries are seldom systematically applied as a basis for design and operation. Instead, risk is generally assessed in terms of Quantitative Risk Analyses (QRAs), which measure risk by Fatal Accident Rate (FAR). Thus, there is a need for applying risk-based decision making with respect to occupational injuries. The objective of the study reported in this paper was to develop a framework for modeling the risk for occupational injuries. The study consisted of (1) a review of existing QRAs and available injury statistics, and (2) a multidisciplinary workshop, with the purpose of generating ideas on how to model the risk for occupational injuries. The outcome of the study is a general approach to how risk for occupational injures can be modelled.
