摘要
An off-grid, DC, distributed generation smart grid termed the Personal Consumer (PeCo) Grid is proposed as a possible solution to address the energy poverty crisis within rural regions. The PeCo grid utilises a nature inspired de-centralised control strategy and operates at a voltage of 12 V. The PeCo grid is composed of blocks of which there are 3 variants: Renewable energy source blocks, energy storage blocks and load blocks. The flexible architecture of the PeCo grid allows for blocks to be added or removed in a plug-and-play manner. Blocks commission and operate autonomously and bus voltage signalling based control is applied to achieve the required action form each block. The PeCO grid operates autonomously and the end-user requires no technical knowledge to commission or operate the system.
