摘要
'Europe'--the word's original form in Hebrew and its definition in Greek point to the dim Occident, to Hesperides. Still, the poetic concepts of its have always been based on a vision of a future Europe built on hope. The word has had a magic connotation since German romanticism, particularly in the works of Heinrich Heine. His idea of Europe formed before his departure to Paris. It grows, influenced by his new Parisian perspective and lasts till the end of his life. Of course, his vision of Europe is not exclusively politics but also poetic. Nevertheless, it hints to a Europe which is of high importance at present. The words of Heinrich Mann prove true: 'Also the supranational fellow feeling of the Europeans is nothing but an invention by poets--preserved only by them throughout the most hostile times.'
