摘要
In 2014, Chong et al1 published an article claiming that human embryonic stem cell-derived cardiomyocytes (hESC-CMs) remuscularize nonhuman primate hearts. Those conclusions, however, were not supported by the data; in addition, there were numerous other methodological issues, as detailed by Anderson et al. 2 Now, the same group has published an article claiming that hESC-CMs restore function in the hearts of nonhuman primates and that this effect is durable. 3 Unfortunately, this report is also problematic in that it does not provide sufficient evidence to support the main conclusions of the study, and the clinical relevance of the observation is unclear.
