The prospects on the technology and marketing of technical textiles in Korea

This paper surveys the prospects on the technology and marketing of technical textiles with present situation of the fibre and textile industries in Korea. This paper surveys the production and marketing flows of technical filament made by large synthetic companies and their technical textiles goods including nonwovens made by SME in Korea. The production and marketing of technical filament such as tire cords, industrial filament, air bag, spunbond nonwoven and other technical filament are included in detail. Furthermore, the production and marketing of life technical filament are surveyed, and production and marketing of short staple nonwoven by SME are summarized. In addition, high technical fibres, which is not produced yet in Korea and imported from oversea countries, are surveyed. Finally, recent research infra structure to the technical textiles is introduced with the strategy for the progress of this area from Korean government.
