Agricultural production is nearly linked with the protection of the environment and landscape. In the frame of the EU agricultural policy, however not only sustainable agricultural production, but also protection of the landscape and rural development is very important. One of the bases of the common agricultural policy is the European Landscape Convention (2002), which declares a common objective of agricultural policy and the aim is - environmental, economic, aesthetic, socio-cultural sustainability of development of the landscape or at least a systematic trend. Implementation tools that enable the converting this policy into practice in the Czech Republic are land use plans and Land Consolidation. Both of these planning documents are tools that fundamentally affect the shape of the urban unbuilt area. They represent relatively established processes with advanced procedures and quite a long tradition. In the planning and creating and transforming the territory, especially the countryside, they have their fixed position and irreplaceable space. Despite many contact points, even in the planning area overlaps, yet there was in practice no legislative and methodical framework for coordination of land use plans and land consolidation processes. In 1999, there was elaborated the Processing Manual, entitled" Coordination of the processes of planning documentation and the complex land consolidation projects. "The new legislative of both instruments and new problems in their parallel and gradual acquisition led to the urgent need to handle the new material. Then, after 10 years, again for the cooperation of specialists from the Institute for Spatial Development Brno and the Brno branch of the Research Institute of Soil and Water Conservation, an updated version of this guide was made. Its aim is to acquaint each other the experts of both branches with the processes and procedures of these important documents, but in particular with the rules for relatively conflict -free relationships and to work together. The material is intended for public authorities and for developers of both documents. 1.6.2010 it was presented on the website of the Institute for Spatial Development Brno.
