摘要
This paper presents a study of modified space vector modulation technique (MSVM) for matrix converter (MC) which produces balanced output voltages in presence of unbalanced supply voltage conditions. The conventional modulation techniques derived for balanced supply conditions give poor performance in presence of abnormal input voltage conditions. Modified modulation techniques use actual input voltages for calculation of instantaneous modulation index which compensates disturbances present on input side and produces balanced output voltages. MSVM incorporates the actual input voltage characteristics for calculating modulation index and input modulation angle which produce required output voltages in presence of unbalanced supply conditions. The effectiveness of MSVM technique is verified and compared with conventional SVM technique by simulation performed in PSIM environment.
