摘要：
Metal matrix composites (MMC) possess excellent thermal and mechanical properties and are widely used in aerospace and automobile applications. In this paper, the current state of research on nanoparticle filled MMCs is presented. Studies related to particle packing, pushing and wetting are reviewed and mechanical properties of metal based nanocomposites are discussed. Material characteristics and properties of polymer matrix nanocomposites are also presented for comparison by the reader with metal matrix nanocomposites.
