Expanding the use of infrared thermography through streamlined processes

Infrared Thermography, a proven technology used for nondestructive testing in industrial facilities, has many applications. Typically industrial facilities only use the technology for electrical applications such as switchgear, substations and transformers. Most facilities fail to realize the tremendous impact of Infrared because they only focus on electrical applications. This paper addresses the reasons Infrared in not more widely utilized. It also examines methodologies by which the utilization challenges can be addressed such that industrial facilities can realize greater utilization of the Infrared sensors and thus achieve greater returns on the investments they have already made.
