摘要
The aim of this article is to discuss the teaching of languages, specifically English and German, to students of Management of Tourism at the Faculty of Informatics and Management (FIM) of the University of Hradec Kralove, Czech Republic. This is done by evaluating the content and the course of teaching of the English and German classes with the help of the longitudinal survey held in the Department of Applied Linguistics (DAL) of FIM from 2008 till 2016. The results from the survey are complemented by informal discussions with students, possibly graduates who feel the need to refine, modify, and develop their previous written comments. The key finding is the fact that students would welcome additional language courses of other foreign languages than just English, German or Russian. Overall, the teachers of DAL seek to ensure the most versatile education in relevant subjects for future professionals in the field of tourism.
