Despite barriers relating to regulation, patient acceptance, and privacy concerns, market researchers estimate the growth of the mobile health-care market at US$9 billion in 2014. Looking ahead, analysts are projecting growth in the mHealth sector at a compound annual growth rate of nearly 40% over the next six years.
