Reliability Modeling and Optimization for Large-Scale Network Systems

Large-scale network systems are becoming increasingly large and complex with system structure and operation management. As a typical application scenario of a large-scale network system, a smart city needs to integrate a large number of sub-systems, such as cloud computing, big data analysis, and internet of things to achieve urban intelligence. In order to make these separated parts work together in a coordinated manner, it needs not only to manage large-scale complex infrastructure resources but also to meet the demand of all kinds of services, especially the reliability guarantee service. Traditional computer systems improve system reliability by adding redundant devices, but this method is not suitable for large-scale network systems. This paper proposes and deploys novel reliability models and optimization methods with the potential to be applied as the key components of the Large-scale network system.
