摘要
Changes in emissions legislation have promoted the development of electronically controlled diesel fuel injection systems. These systems need improved measurement capabilities. This has been translated into the specification for a pilot injection metering unit. Assembly Technology & Test's pilot injection metering unit is known as the DS20. The key features that the DS20 offers include measurement of quantity and timing for 5 injection events per cycle, and the derivation of rate of injection from these values. The total injected quantity is 100mm(3) per cycle. The DS20 has been used in the engineering development of Electronic Unit Injectors (EUI) and Common Rail (CR) injectors for the passenger car market. Development is under way for its use in production test environments. The DS20 is also being developed to suit larger injection quantities, and engineering applications for gasoline direct injection (GDI).
