摘要
A thiospinel CuIr2S4 exhibits a temperature-induced metal-insulator (M-I) transition around 230K with a simultaneous spin-dimerization and charge-ordering transition although it is a three-dimensional system. The electronic and magnetic properties of mixed crystals Cu1-xMnxIr2S4 are presented, which is an example for A-site substitution system. Even in the metallic state, T > TM-I the localized magnetic moment is observed with the antiferromagnetic negative Weiss temperature theta. The effective magnetic moment mu(cff) is approximately 4.92 mu(B) per Mn ion for 0.05 less than or equal to x less than or equal to 0.20. (C) 2003 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
