摘要
The study examined the disintegration of sludge by Microwave Pretreatment, the effect of electricity generation and organic matter removal by microbial fuel cell (MFC) from pretreated sludge, compared with the original sludge. The results showed that microwave pretreatment can accelerate the dissolution of organic matter in the sludge, improve the electrical properties of MFC and the TCOD removal rate of sludge after it. By using raw sludge for electricity generation by microbial fuel cell, we found that stable output voltage was0.607V, the maximum output power density was 2.79 W/m(3), the TCOD removal efficiency was 28.02% after running 8 days, while after the microwave pretreatment at the intensity of 5 W/ml for 5 minutes the stable output voltage was 0. 70 V, the maximum output power density was 3.78 W/m(3) and the TCOD removal efficiency was 43.73%. So microwave pretreatment can speed up the startup process of MFC and shorten the digestion time of the sludge.
