Thoracic outlet syndromes (TOS) may induce neurologic signs, vascular pathology, and pain, but the clinical signs are often unclear. The relationship between a cervical bony abnormality is often unclear, and the investigations not always contributive. First-line treatment consists in physiotherapy. Surgery remains controversial, in both its indication as its modalities. However, well-adapted surgery gives a good result in 60-85% of cases. (C) 2009 Elsevier Masson SAS. All rights reserved.
