摘要
Portland cement is still one of the most effective binders that can be used for the strengthening of soils. Notwithstanding, the usual tests for the determination of its content are laborious and time consuming. In this paper, the author describes a simple and rapid method based on the electrical interaction between cement and soil particles for assessing the minimum percentage of cement required for the stabilization of a soil. The method was applied to samples of Brazilian oxisols and the results are discussed on the light of surface physico-chemical principles.
