摘要
The deformation characteristics of silty clay subjected to triaxial loading are studied using real-time computerised tomography scanning. Scanning is performed without unloading. The meso deformation characteristics are detected and described from scanning. Based on the CT number and CT image, it is shown that silty clay is typically a material that is originally damaged and inhomogeneous. Its deformation is anisotropic. The stressstrain curve of the soil is divided into four stages: (i) microdefects close up; (ii) new microcracks appear and develop slightly, and damage starts; (iii) local deformation and damage develop quickly; and (iv) softening failure and post damage develop rapidly. The real-time CT experiment provides an important experimental basis for studies on macro damage theory.
