Sensorless Vector Controlled Induction Motor Drive for Medium Power Applications

摘要
A 36-pulse AC-DC conversion fed 9-level cascaded H-bridge (CHB) inverter driven sensorless vector controlled induction motor drive (VCIMD) is presented for medium voltage applications. A 36-pulse AC-DC conversion has made the grid currents nearly sinusoidal and reduced its total harmonics distortion (THD) to a quite low value. A ternary based 9-level CHB-inverter is used on motor side to improve the response of induction motor drive (IMD). A nearest level modulation technique (NLMT) is utilized to switched a 9-level CHB-inverter at fundamental frequency, which reduces switching losses, and improves the efficiency of the proposed IMD. The proposed IMD is modeled in Simulink/MATLAB tool to demonstrate its usefulness for medium power industrial applications.
