Autorship in Se um viajante numa noite de inverno, by Italo Calvino

The italian writer Italo Calvino's Se um viajante numa noite de inverno, invites us to a complex literary universe where writers and texts and readers become part of the narrative, in a pleasant fiction game of concealment and denudation. The novel is about a readers couple that starts a journey of searching for books whose stories would be already complete since they begin to read ten stories but are cut in by the most various vicissitudes. In this journey, the problematic around the author function in literary texts is of great relevance. To understand the idea of authorship in a better way we dedicate this work to study the fictional apparatus by which we could unravel the author's image projected by the text. For this purpose, Booth, Eco and Barthes' reading and writing conceptions substantiate this study.
